Statement on Okanagan Wildfires
Our thoughts are with everyone in our communities affected by the recent wildfires. The Okanagan College Students’ Union has deep roots in these communities, and we know that many of our members, neighbours, and families are currently dealing with evacuation, property loss, uncertainty, or the stress of watching this unfold.
We want you to know: you are not alone, and we are here to help in whatever way we can.
How we’re supporting affected community members:
• Food Security: We have our Kelowna Pantry and Penticton Foodshelf available for our members
•Trauma Support: We can help you navigate counselling support via our extended health and dental plan and connect you with local providers
• Emergency Bursaries: We have a number of emergency funds available to our members via the Financial Services at OC

We’re also grateful to the firefighters, first responders, and emergency personnel working to keep our communities safe.

This is both a donation drop off site and a place where evacuees can pick up essential items. Hours are 9:00 am - 3:30 pm daily until further notice.
Comfort Centre - Princess Margaret Senior Secondary: 120 Green Ave West
Space is available for anyone with trailers or campers to park at this location. They are also providing a safe place to rest, recharge and access to amenities like food and water, and a place to charge devices. Open 10:00 am - 8:00 pm.
